COVID-19 What to expect

You will see several changes when it is time for your next appointment. These changes will help protect our patients and our dental team:

  • Our office will communicate with you 24-48 hours before your appointment. In that communication there will be a link to some screening questions. These screening questions must be filled out before you can come into the office. If you are having difficulty with the questions please call the office and someone will help you through them.

  • You will be required to wear a mask into and out of your appointment. You can use your own mask, or one will be provided for you.

  • Shields have been installed throughout the office to keep you and our staff separated.

  • We have hand sanitizer that we ask you to use when you enter and leave the office.

  • Our reception area will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys or games as those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.

  • Chairs in the reception area have been reduced in number with appropriate spacing and changed to vinyl for easier sanitation.

  • Reception area will be regularly sanitized during each day.

  • Credit/debit machine will be cleaned after each use.

  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you may be offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. Same day diagnosis and care will be recommended whenever possible.

  • Team members will be wearing significantly more protective equipment which may be alarming to you.

  • Increased air cleaning (UV and HEPA) systems have been added.

  • New suction equipment has been introduced to reduce aerosols.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we have taken to keep you and every patient safe in our practice.

To make an appointment please call our office at 250-748-1842. We look forward to seeing you again!

Sincerely, Dr. Jolene Benham, Dr. Dale Benham and the entire Alderlea Dental Health Centre Team
